Candy fundraisers are great, but remember that it sells for a relatively low price. That means you need to do your homework to choose the best candy fundraising ideas to insure you make the most money possible.
You want to not only purchase your candy for a good price but you also want to make sure that there are no hidden fees such as shipping. If you pay additional shipping fees then your profits can drop substantially. Remember, too, that unless you are a public school you willmost likely have to pay for your candy at the time of your purchase so it is really important that you don't lay out more money than necessary.
You definitely want to talk to your sellers before comitting to your fundraising candy. Ask each to make a comittment to sell a certain amount of candy. Lots of groups ask each seller to sell a case of candy. That's not an unreasonable amount of candy. Once you have your comittments than you can feel more comfortable placing your order.
You do not want to over buy if possible. Most companies will not accept returns of fundraising candy. While that might annoy some people we suggest you think twice about ordering candy from a company that accepts returns. After all once the candy leaves your supplier's facility they really don't know what might happen to the candy. How can they insure that the product has not been tampered with?
