But I received an interesting phone call from one of our candle suppliers earlier this year that really spoke volumes about candle fundraisers. The owner of the company, which has been making fundraising candles for more than 25 years, said his costs were rising so quickly he was having to change pricing mid season.
He said he had never in his 25 years experienced cost increases like he had experienced this season. So when you are looking for the best candle fundraisers the first criteria in our opinion is the viability of the candle manufacturer. You may have never thought about asking that question in the past but it is something you should know now.
Another manufacturer that we have used for years has had trouble making money selling fundraising candles and although they are filling orders they gave us and our fundraising groups quite a scare near the end of the fall fundraising season.
The next criteria in choosing the best candle fundraiser is comparing price points. I have been a strong believer that people will pay certain amounts for fundraising products. I believe $1, $5 and $10 price points work much better than higher prices. If you can find a reasonable candle line that you can retail for $10 or $12 each you will be offering one of the best price points possible.
I hope this information helps you choose the best candle fundraising idea for your group.
