Prom Fundraising - Overview

On the very first day of a teenager’s senior year, prom is on their minds. Prom planning starts soon after the first day. The cost of prom has grown with each year. Decorations, locations, entertainment and after parties need to be funded through the student body. Although the price of tickets help, it is not enough to cover all costs.

First steps in planning prom fundraisers are to promote the prom. The senior class leaders need to set up a prom committee to evaluate location, date and activities. Once that is established you can figure out the cost and find the best fundraisers for your prom.

Many schools now are really promoting sponsored safe after prom parties. This is another cost that you will need to consider. The expenditure of this will include place, fun activities and food. Fundraiser and prom dresses are another to consider. Many girls may not be able to buy that perfect dress. The committee could hold a fundraiser especially for that cause which would allow some seniors to attend their prom.
