Schools are supposed to be places you go to for an education. But more and more the financial needs of the school can not be met with the school budget. And, unless the school or parents want to cut programs and extracurricular activities, they need to figure out new revenue sources. Our hope on this page is to help navigate your options. After all, the odds are good that you are not attempting to raise money on a regular basis and might not know the best options available. Best times of year to hold a school fundraiser

We are asked what time of year is best to raise money and we have a difficult time answering that question. The problem is that the answer is different for each group and each school.

Lots of schools plan their fundraisers for very early in the school year. Some of the most organized plan their's for mid to late August so they get a jump on other groups raising money. The thought there is that early is better, but that is not always the case. The better argument for early is that you will know how well you've done and whether your financial needs are met.

Lots of other group like to do their fundraisers right before the Christmas season. This is historically one of the best times for school fundraising depending on the products you are selling since people might consider your products to use as gifts.

Paying for your fundraiser
