Teaching Thriftiness through Boy Scout Fundraising

“A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.”

Though we might not be able to help much with being clean or brave, we can certainly help out a scout who is looking for ways to be thrifty. Doing fundraising throughout the year can help your boy scouts learn about earning and raising money for a worthy cause. Whatever you are raising money for there is a fundraising program that can help.

Doing a pizza card fundraiser is an excellent way to help not only your troop but your customers become thriftier. Each card is sold for $10, but those who buy the cards have the opportunity to purchase two pizzas for the price of one.

How do you get the cards?

When your troop decides they would like to sell pizza cards for your next boy scout fundraiser, simply go to your local pizzeria and have the manager or owner fill out the merchant agreement that you find online. Talk it over with your boys & decide approximately how many cards each scout is willing to sell. Knowing the total number of cards will determine the price you pay per card. If you have never sold pizza cards as a boy scout fundraiser before, a typical troop sells about 10-15 cards per scout.

After you have everything together (merchant agreement, the total number of cards needed), call your fundraising consultant to place your order.

When will I get the cards?

The pizza cards ship out and are delivered about 3-5 days after the payment is received. You can purchase the card using Visa or MasterCard over the phone. You can also send in a check or money order to pay for the pizza cards. As soon as the cards are in, start selling!

How much money will my troop raise?

Your profit is determined by the number of cards that you purchase. The more cards you buy, the less the price, so your profit percentage goes up. Remember each card is sold for $10.

If you and your troop are looking for an easy way to learn about thriftiness, then pizza cards is the best bet for your next boy scout fundraising endeavor.

Softball scratch card

If your softball team is looking for a high profit softball fundraiser scratch off cards should be considered. Each of the fundraising scratch off cards will raise $100 each. That amount of money should go along way towards paying for tournament fees, uniforms, and other items softball fundraisers are held for.
