Student Alumni Association Fundraising - Overview

Most fundraising companies focus on schools and school fundraising ideas. But most do not specialize in helping the students once they have graduated, moved on yet still desire to work together for the benefit of the school. There are many colleges with very strong student alumni associations that depend on fundraising to maintain their existence.

When all participants remain near the campus, student alumni association fundraising is simple. It is when those alumni spread out throughout the country that it gets more difficult.

We have come up with three suggestions for student alumni association fundraising ideas. At least one works well even when the alumni are spread out.

Magazines

Magazine Fund Raising

We also suggest you consider student alumni associations magazine fund raising as a pre sell option. Most people know others who would be willing to buy a fundraising magazine from them. The reason we suggest a magazine fundraiser as the pre sell option is the ease of shipping the subscription vouchers anywhere at little expense. You can make great profits selling people subscriptions to magazines they are already reading.

When do I have to pay?

Student alumni associations ask this question quite often. Payment arrangements will need to be made before we can ship your order unless you are a public school issuing a public school purchase order. If payment is an issue consider one of the pre sell fundraising options that allow you to collect money as you pre sell using free brochures and order forms. Otherwise we accept Master Card, Visa and checks or money orders.

What do I do with products I don't sell?

Because of the nature of fundraising we are not able to accept returns on any products. We do that for a few reasons. On food products we feel it would not be safe to accept returns of products that have left our control. Many other products are customized for your group. We have made minimum orders as low as possible and reordering as simple as possible so you will not have to order too much or the wrong product. We would love to help you choose the best fundraiser for your student alumni and reduce the risk of overbuying.

Do I charge sales tax when I sell?

That is a difficult question to answer for student alumni organizations. We are not sales tax authorities and can only speak to whether we would charge you sales tax. Most states allow non profits to sell products for fundraisers without having to collect sales tax. We suggest you check with your local authorities if you have any other questions pertaining to sales tax.

Can I have my order shipped to more than one address?

All prices on our website and in our catalog are based on shipping your order to one address. If you want items shipped to multiple addresses you would need to talk to one of our sales representatives and they can give you a quote on what the additional freight costs would be.
